Sorrento is a small city in Campania, southern Italy, with some 16,500 inhabitants. It is a popular tourist destination. The town can be reached easily from Naples and Pompeii, as it lies at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. The town overlooks the bay of Naples, as the key place of the Sorrentine Peninsula, and many viewpoints in the city allow sight of Naples itself (visible across the bay), Vesuvius and the island of Capri.
The Amalfi Drive (connecting Sorrento and Amalfi) is the narrow road that threads around the high cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Ferry boats and hydrofoils provide services to Naples, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Ischia. Sorrento's sea cliffs and luxury hotels have attracted famous personalities, including Enrico Caruso and Luciano Pavarotti.
Sorrento is famous for the production of limoncello, an alcoholic digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar. Other agricultural production includes citrus fruit, wine, nuts and olives. Wood craftsmanship is also developed.
Wattanachot Tungateja
On 9 April 2019 Wattanachot and his team went to ART HOTEL GRAN PARADISO de Sorento. He brought arts from Italian art tour 2019" at Vallo Della Luciana, Italy. The exhibition was held in the bedrooms of each artist. every one can exhibit their works. This is the great opportunity to all artists in this trip with the ART HOTEL GRAN PARADISO. that provide privacy and better public relation with its own beauty at the coast of Tyrrhenian Sea.
In this issue, I would like to present an interesting Thai artist whom I met for the first time at the Art Exchange Exhibition. He works as a lecturer for many universities in Thailand. His profession is somewhat different from other lecturers in Thailand since he was an ambassador of art in Thailand to many countries with his intention to elevate Thai Art with exhibitions and workshops connected all over the world.
With his experience as an alumnus of UCLA,USA, he selected artists including freelancers from many institutes to attend workshops and exhibitions overseas. Not so simple for artists from Thailand to use their own budget to be visiting artists abroad but with his support, artists from Asia would eventually work together.
Wattanachot’s works are remarkable and his trains of thought are shown in a series of artworks that reveal a harmonious mixture of social and natural environments. He is keen on teaching arts to students and is regarded as avant-garde. After coming back to his homeland, he brought what he saw abroad and created new, imaginative pieces of artwork. Looking at his works, we can see the identity, stability and richness of his imagination. He received many awards from various exhibitions. He also had his own studio called 56 Art Studio in NakhonSawanProvince.Thailand
