1957 - Graduated form Bangkok School of Art and Crafts.

1959 - Studied under direct supervision of Prof.Silp Bhirasri,the founder and first rector of Silpakorn University,Bangkok.

1961 - Joined the Civil Service as Art Instructor and Lecturer,Faculty of Painting,Sculture and Print-Making, Silapakorn Universuty,Bangkok

- Bachelor of Fine Arts(Sculture),Silapakorn University, under the direction of Prof.Silp Bhirasri.

Commisioned to design and sculp the statue of Dr. Pridi Banomyong, Father of Parliamentary Democracy, and Extraordinary statesman, at Thammasat University.

สมโภชน์ อุปอินทร์ ศิลปินที่มีผลงานโดดเด่นและเป็นที่ยอมรับทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศโดยเฉพาะงานในแนวคิวบิสม์ จนถือได้ว่าเป็นศิลปินคนแรกของเอเชียที่บุกเบิกงานสมัยใหม่ในแนวคิวบิสม์ ต่อจากผลงานของศิลปินระดับโลกอย่างปิกัสโซ่

นอกจากนี้ผลงานจิตรกรรมของสมโภชน์ ยังเป็นผลงานที่บันทึกภาพประวัติศาสตร์การเมืองไทยสมัยใหม่ซึ่งสมโภชน์ได้สร้างขึ้นในช่วงของการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางการเมืองช่วงสำคัญของประเทศไทย และการทำงานที่มีลักษณะโดดเด่นของท่านอย่างหนึ่ง คือ การผสมผสานงานประติมากรรมกับจิตรกรรมเข้าด้วยกันซึ่งเป็นการทำงานที่เต็มไปด้วยความท้าทาย และได้รับคัดเลือกให้เป็นหนึ่งในศิลปินไทยที่ได้รับเกียรติให้จัดแสดงผลงานในพิพิธภัณฑ์และหอศิลป์ในต่างประเทศหลายๆ แห่ง เช่น ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ฝรั่งเศสและที่หอศิลป์แห่งชาติ ประเทศสิงคโปร์ ร่วมกับผลงานของศิลปินระดับโลกอีกหลายท่าน อาทิ พาโบล ปิกัสโซ่ มาร์ค ซากัล และฌอง ดูบุฟเฟต์

งานนิทรรศการผลงานศิลปะทั้งจิตรกรรมและประติมากรรมของสมโภชน์ อุปอินทร์ โดยครอบครัวอุปอินทร์ จัดขึ้นที่ หอศิลป์สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าพระบรมราชินีนาถ

Sompot Upa-in, a remarkable cubism artist in Thailand whose work is widely recognized by the local and international art scene and he is known as the first Asian artist who has progress in Cubism after the legendary artist, Pablo Picasso.

In addition, his painting also is a part as recorded political history in Thailand which was created during the period of political upheaval in Thailand. The challenge of his work is trying to create works of art by a combination between sculpture and painting together. His works of art were exhibited in many foreign museums and galleries such as Japan, France and at National Gallery Singapore where are featured with the works of many other world-class artists such as Pablo Picasso, Mark Segal and Jean Dubuffet.

Portrait which painted is more important than by photography. Even now technology of computer has efficiency to make the picture is complicated and variable. technology is another equipment to make work more convenient but the audience cannot touch model's emotion and feeling which presented from "Hand Head" and "Heart" of artists. They are value of art which the audience cannot find from photographs.
