Sorrento is a coastal town in southwestern Italy, facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. Perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas, it’s known for sweeping water views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square. The historic center is a warren of narrow alleys that's home to the Chiesa di San Francesco, a 14th-century church with a tranquil cloister.

Spend a few hours in Amalfi, the original town of handmade paper production, and see why this is one of Italy's most famous holiday spots as you admire Mediterranean architecture and picturesque white houses seemingly piled one upon the other.

Last, stop in Ravello and take in unparalleled vistas of the coast from this charming little town. As you explore on your own, get a chance to visit Villa Rufolo, a 13th-century villa with beautiful gardens and exquisite views, before getting a lift back to your hotel.
